Nikon D610 Summary
Nikon D610 Assessment
The D610 is the D600 for all photographic purposes. Image-quality is identical with very slightly improved AWB and speed. Truly, these changes are minimal. The D600 being an excellent DSLR, so is the D610 without a doubt.
The Nikon D610 essentially replaces the D600 with an identical twin. As such, owners of the D600 are likely to pass on this one, unless looking for a body to use as backup. If you almost bought the D600, now is the chance to get it cheaper or simply jump on the D610 for the same price, minus all the reported dust issues.
The D610 stays among the best of cameras when it comes to image-quality. Image-noise is very low and dynamic-range is the best there is. It is also one of the most affordable full-frame DSLR cameras on the market, pushing the D600 towards unseen territory.
Even though its price is low among full-frame digital cameras, the D610 is extremely well specified. It has an essential 100% coverage viewfinder, weather-sealed body, dual control dials, built-in flash and hot-shoe.
There is only one word of caution when moving up to a full-frame camera like the D610: lenses. To obtain top image quality, one needs high-end lenses and that means often spending about as much on a lens as on the camera. The Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm F/2.8 IF-ED
