Best Gifts for Photographers in 2025 by Budget
Introduction
The 2025 holiday season is approaching fast and, while buying online is very easy, deciding what to buy is not! So, if you are wondering what to give to a photography enthusiast, you are in the right place. In our Annual Photography Gift Guide, now fully updated to 2025, you will find great gift ideas no matter your budget.
In this new 2025 Photography Gift Guide, the awesome gifts below are arranged by budget. You will find small gifts for less than $50 and more to choose from up to $500. Every store knows that people spend the most around this time of the year, so always look for specials that can bring higher-end products down to your budget! Remember, local prices can differ but all these gifts are available from Adorama which ships to almost anywhere in the world. Plus, Amazon now stocks a huge selection of photography gear.
Find Great Photography Gifts from below $50 to $500 USD here,
in the annual Neocamera Photography Gift Guide, 2025 Edition.
Nearly all gifts shown below are universal and compatible with every digital camera on the market. Some items, however, are available in different versions or sizes to match specific cameras or lenses. This is always noted in the description. Just remember to check that specifications match the intended camera or lens before ordering.
NOTE All prices listed below are shown in USD before taxes without discounts. When buying internationally, some duty may apply depending on your location, the point of sale and the origin of the product. Many countries have an exemption for small personal gifts under a certain value.
Best Photography Gifts Under $50
Even though inflation continues to be high due to various geopolitical reasons, there are still useful photography items that can be purchased for less than $50 USD. Several 2024 gift ideas that used to cost less than $50 have moved to the Under $100 category.
Stability is very important in photography. A tripod opens up the world of Low-Light Photography and plenty of creative options like no other accessory. Many people avoid buying them because they are bulky to transport. Reasonable tripods are not this cheap, so those are covered further down. However, there is a small affordable solution for photography enthusiasts that use a compact camera. If the camera and attached lens together weigh less than 500g, then the GorillaPod 500 is a versatile option priced at $25 USD. This small flexible tripod is easy to carry and can support the camera onto various objects.
When using a tripod, and particularly with a GorillaPod that is lighter than a full-size support, a Remote Control is essential. Modern Mirrorless Digital Cameras can often be controlled over Bluetooth via a smartphone but that is cumbersome and reduces battery-life. Instead, it is better to buy dedicated camera remote:
Here are the most common remotes for recent digital cameras:
- SmallRig makes the SR-RG2 Remote Controller that works with many Bluetooth enabled Sony, Canon and Nikon digital cameras. It retails for $32 USD from Amazon or Adorama.
- The Pentax O-RC1, available from Amazon and Adorama, works with any Pentax camera with an infrared receiver. Pentax is the only maker with a waterproof remote. This is a great complement to one of their DSLRs or remote-enabled cameras.
- Canon offers a remote, the Canon BR-E1, that is truly affordable yet surprisingly difficult to find in stock. There are a few third-party clones though such as the Aodelan BR-E1A.
Camera straps are a big thing among photographers. While all cameras come with a strap, most included straps are quite uncomfortable after a while. One inexpensive way to make a shoulder strap comfortable is to add an air cushion. The RLSOCO Shoulder Strap Pad Air Cushion is extremely well-padded and can be used hours.
At below $50 USD, the Zeiss Air Cell is the most comfortable and cheapest way to own the Zeiss name. This ultra-padded shoulder-strap makes heavy cameras feel light! It provides the security of a standard strap with much less stress on your neck.
Best Photography Gifts Under $100
Back on the topic of stabilization, more heavy duty Gorillapods make great gifts. Joby makes several models according to the maximum weight it can support. The GorillaPod 3K supports up to 3kg or 6½lbs, making it sufficiently strong to hold most cameras with the majority of non-telephoto lenses attached. Below $100, the Gorillapod 3K does not feature a ballhead, which can be bought as a second photography gift for about $70. The Gorillapod 3K PRO Ballhead is equipped with an Arca-Swiss type release plate.
Sometimes a new head is all that is needed to improve photography! Although they can be quite costly, there are some quality tripod ball heads available for under $100 USD. This includes the Manfrotto 490 Center Ball Head with Quick-Release. This model can easily handle a 4kg load, which is sufficient for the vast majority of camera and lens combinations.
One thing that makes macro and product photography significantly easier is a light tent. This makes a very night gift for collectors and crafty people to document their items. One of the best-rated is the Neewer 24" Light-Tent. It also comes in smaller 16" and 20" sizes. All these sizes are available for less than $100 USD each.
There is also Foldio who makes stiff plastic light tents that help capture clean backgrounds. For $80 USD, one can get the Foldio 2 Plus, a 15" portable studio with dimmable high-accuracy CRI 97+ LED lighting.
Best Photography Gifts Under $250
For under $250 USD, there are quite a few gift choices for photographers in your life! Optical filters are extremely popular among photographers who build up a collection over time. The most useful filter bar-none is a Circular Polarize. These filters cut out glare and surface reflection to produce more vibrant images and deeper blue sky.
The absolute best polarizing filters are the Hoya HD series. Every filter that Hoya labels HD transmits more light than any other brand. The newest HD3 family are made of ultra-hard glass that is scratch-resistant and durable which protects the investment. Hoya produces some of the highest quality optics in the world and certified HD3 polarizers to seamlessly preserve over 100 MP of details, making them future-proof as well.
Hoya produces polarizing filters for all common lens sizes:
- Hoya HD3 67mm Circular Polarizer from Amazon or Adorama.
- Hoya HD3 72mm Circular Polarizer from Amazon or Adorama.
- Hoya HD3 77mm Circular Polarizer from Amazon or Adorama.
- Hoya HD3 82mm Circular Polarizer from Amazon or Adorama.
Prices range from $125 to $250 USD, according to size. These polarizers also come in 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm and 62mm sizes. Some stores still carry HD2 filters which are almost as good while costing a little less.
NOTE Not all lenses accept filters and most fixed-lens cameras do not have a filter-thread. When a lens accepts filters, only one size fits directly on the lens. A larger one may be used with a step-up ring but will not let you use a lens hood at the same time.
Another highly popular type of filter is a Neutral Density filter. These filters reduce the amount of light entering the lens which allows photographers to capture images with a longer shutter-speed or wider aperture for creative effects. These are incredibly useful for night photography and capturing moving water. Each ND filter has a size and density which determines how much light it absorbs. Extremely dense filters are essential for capturing the sun directly or during an eclipse.
Hoya makes ND filters with densities from 1/3 to 16½ stops and sizes from 46mm to 95mm. Prices reach $240 for larger sizes yet some cost just $60 USD. Adorama caries a large selection of those. To capture a solar eclipse, an ND100000 is ideal.
Right within the $100 to $250 price range, there are plenty of camera bags that make great gifts. Good camera bags can make gear more comfortable to carry and easier to access, two fantastic ways to encourage more photography!
Shoulder and holster camera bags provide the most efficient access to photo gear. Shoulder bags come in various sizes, capable of holding 1-3 cameras with 1-5 lenses, while holster are only made for a single camera with a lens attached. One of the best shoulder bags is the Lowepro Nova 200 AW II. It can carry two full-frame or APS-C digital cameras with 4-5 lenses plus plenty of accessories. At 36" linear, this particular model qualifies as a personal item on a number of airlines. Its smaller sibling, the Lowepro Nova 160 AW II, caries one camera and 2 or 3 lenses. For just a single camera and lens, consider the Lowpro ProTactic TLC 75 PRO AW III or II instead.
Another type of camera bag that is quite popular is the Sling. These are hybrid shoulder bags that can be moved to the back without taking them off. The benefit of Slings is that they give quick access to photo gear while also being able to be moved out of the way. One of the leading manufacturer of this type of camera bag is Peak Design. Their Everyday Sling comes in three sizes in seven colors.
Best Photography Gifts Under $500
Photographers love admiring prints and displaying their art. A professional photo printer is the ideal way to spark this joy! Epson makes a wide-format photo printer, the Expression Photo HD XP-15000, that is among the most affordable. This model also supports borderless 13"x19" prints using a mix of 6 Claria Photo HD Inks. This is versatile printer that supports thicker direct-fed media using a straight-path rear feeding slot.
In the 2024 Photography Gift Guide, we recommended the Canon PIXMA PRO-200 Large-Format Printer what also prints 13"x19" borderless photos. That model is not longer current and so it can probably be found for less than $500. Its replacement though, the new Canon PIXMA PRO-200S, at $550 USD exceeds our recommended price range, so look out for end-of-year deals.
Back to the earlier topic of camera stabilization, there are some great tripods that land right within this price range. One highly model is the Peak Design Aluminum Travel Tripod. It is very compact due to its original leg design that reduces gaps when folded. At 1.55kg, it is slightly heavier yet more affordable than its carbon fiber twin. A slightly less compact but much lighter model is the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Carbon Fiber Tripod. It weighs just 1¼kg and includes a 494 Center Ball Head which is considerably easier to use and more versatile than the one built into the Peak Design Travel Tripod. The Manfrotto Befree Advanced Carbon Fiber Tripod sells for $350 USD and comes fully equipped with a custom carrying bag.

There are many photo enthusiasts that use a Mirrorless Digital Camera with an APS-C sensor. Often those come with a low-quality kit-lens to get people started. Bring them to the lens level with a bright constant-aperture zoom lens such as the Sigma C 18-50mm F/2.8 DC DN. This lens is exceptionally affordable for the price. Sigma makes versions for Sony E-Mount, Fujifilm X-Mount, Canon RF-Mount and Leica L-Mount.
Another great way to change up photography is to get an ultra-bright prime lens. These lenses allow to capture images in very low-light and capture shallow depth-of-field to isolate subjects from their backgrounds. For just $370 USD, one can get the Sigma C DN 16mm F/1.4 DC Lens. This is also a lens designed for APS-C digital cameras. This lens comes in no less than 6 mounts: Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Leica L, Canon M and Micro Four-Thirds. There are also versions with different focal-lengths for a similar price.

Best Photography Gifts For Teens
Cellphones are at the center of teen lives and, when they think photography, a smartphone is most often their gear of choice. It is constantly available to them. Sometimes a memory needs to be more tangible.
For this, Fujifilm created a series of Instax Printers. The newest Mini Link 3 Smartphone Printer is barely larger than the 2"x3" prints it makes and connects directly to most modern phones via Bluetooth. It is available for $85 USD from Amazon and is often bundles with some compatible photo paper. It is also sold at Adorama for $100 USD.
Everything retro is hugely popular lately among teenagers. For the retro feel of photography without committing to spending on every frame, nothing compared to the Fujifilm Instax EVO. This is a hybrid Instant and Digital Camera that gives the experience of the former with the convenience of the latter, including image preview and a digital copy on Micro SD, sold separately.
Earlier this year, Fujifilm launched a wide version of their hybrid camera. While we recommend starting with the standard one, it could be good present for a teen that is ready for their second instant camera. The latest Fujifilm Instax WIDE Evo Hybrid is available for $410 USD.
The Fujifilm Instax Film Variety Pack comes with 60 exposures in Macaron, Confetti and Candy Pop styles. It is compatible with the Mini Link 3 Printer, the Instax Mini EVO and several other Fujifilm instant cameras.
