Olympus Unveils XZ-10

Olympus today officially launched their Stylus XZ-10 premium compact digital camera. This one is built around a 12 megapixels high-speed CMOS sensor capable of shooting up to 200 full-resolution images continuously at 5 FPS. A faster 15 FPS continuous drive at reduced resolution is available.
The XZ-10 features a very bright wide-angle 5X optical zoom lens, equivalent to 26-130mm. At wide-angle, the aperture opens up to F/1.8 and only goes down to F/2.7 at telephoto, maintaining at least a full-stop advantage over even the majority of premium compacts at the telephoto end. The XZ-10 offers full manual controls, including manual focus and custom white-balance, plus dual control-dials.
The 1/2.3" CMOS sensor used can also record full 1080p HD video and high-speed 720p at 120 FPS, plus some low resolution videos at 240 FPS. Stereo sound is recorded from a built-in microphone with optional wind-filter. This compact digital camera has a wide exposure latitude with a 100 - 6400 ISO range and 1/2000 - 30s shutter-speed range.
The Olympus Stylus XZ-10 is scheduled to be available next month for a suggested price of $399 USD.
