Megadap Launches Sony FE-to-Nikon Z Mount Adapter

Newcomer Megadap launched this morning an ultra-thin adapter that allows to mount Sony FE lenses onto Nikon Z-mount mirrorless digital cameras. This mount-adapter provides an electronic connection between two fully electronic mounts on Full-Frame and APS-C cameras.

Normally, manufacturers bridge an SLR mount to a Mirrorless one. Since the former requires a longer flange distance than the latter, there is a sizable gap to bridge between such two systems. Very few adapters can bridge between two SLR mounts and the same is true for a pair of mirrorless mounts. Megadap manages this impressive feat of engineering with their Sony FE to Nikon Z adapter which measures a mere 2mm thick!

Traditional third-party manufacturers of lenses have been slow to adapter the Z-mount due to its limited circulation. On the other hand, Sony has a huge head-start and offers among the largest and most complete lineup among mirrorless makers. They certainly are the leader when it comes to Full-Frame lenses.
