Sigma Creates Brightest Extreme Wide Lens

Just now, Sigma Photo unveiled a new addition to their Art series of premium lenses. This is one of the most well regarded family of lenses around. Joining an extensive lineup is the Sigma A 14mm F/1.4 DG DN, a Full-Frame prime lens with unprecedented brightness of its angle-of-view.

This completely new prime brings the brightest aperture of any extreme wide-angle lens. The body of this lens is fully dust and splash resistant, while the front element has a water and oil repelling coating applied.

Sigma Photo promises exceptional image-quality with edge-to-edge sharpness and low optical distortion. This is a no-expense-spared design and gives the Art 14mm F/1.4 lens a 10cm diameter with a 15cm length. This lens weighs a hefty 1.2kg which is expected for a bright ultra-wide lens. Both Sony E and Leica L mount versions are expected this month for $1600 USD.
