Peak Design Launches City Line Bags

Peak Design, famous makers of innovative camera bags and photography gear, launched an entirely new range of bags, comprising of four series of different bag types! The new City Line range is their most massive launch yet!

City Line introduces four bag series: City Backpack, City Tote, City Sling and City Crescent. The common these across the entire lineup is an emphasis on light weight and simplicity. Every model features a streamlined exterior and is available in 6 colors: Black, Cypress (Dark Green), Eclipse (Redish Brown), Lapis (Royal Blue), Moon (Light Beige) and Stone (Dark Beige). The Lapis versions, shown above, are especially striking!

These bags are meant to be versatile while being specifically designed to handle daily gear. Their built-in padding make them heavier than simple bags of the same size yet the are lighter than most camera bags.

The City Backpacks comes in two sizes of the identical design. The larger model is the City Backpack 22L and its smaller sibling is the City Backpack 15L. Each can carry both a laptop and a tablet. For the 22L, those can be up to 16" for the laptop and 14" for the tablet. With the 15L, the maximum size for the laptop is 14" and is 12" for the tablet. There are three subtle external zipper pockets. Inside, there are two stretch pockets, one zip pocket and special Apple Air-Tag slot. As for the lightweight aspect, the larger backpack weights 890g and the smaller ones is 750g. Whether this counts as light or not, depends on which other bag these are compared with.

The City Tote has possible the most features of any tote bag yet. Its classic square profile features external pockets on all four sides plus internal slots for a 14" laptop and a 12" tablet. There are also two stretch pockets, two pen pockets, one zippered pocket and an Apple AirTag pocket too. The City Tote weighs 711g.

The City Sling 2L, the only sling in the range, is more of a waist pack that can be worn across. Its tiny 2L volume conceals several dividers. There is also a single external pocket with magnetic closure. The weight of the City Sling is unspecified by the manufacturer.

The final two bags launched are the City Crescent 12L and City Crescent 6L. They are essentially closed totes with a strap that extends from the outer edges. Both sizes are smaller than the City Tote. Neither a laptop nor a tablet compartment is found in these bags. The have external pockets on three sizes, two with a zipper and one with a magnetic closure. Inside there is stretch pocket, a a sunglasses pocket, a zippered pocket and an Apple AirTag slot.

Peak Design announced August 4 as the availability date yet, except for the backpacks, these bags are currently all marked out-of-stock on the website. They are expected soon for from $80 USD for the City Sling to $230 for the City Backpack 22L.
