A detailed review of the Nikon 1 V1 is now published at Neocamera. This is the flagship camera of Nikon's Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera system called Nikon 1. The V1 and its near-twin, the J1, along with 4 very compact lenses were introduced earlier this year and boast a number of unique features.

The Nikon 1 V1 features a high-speed CMOS sensor with 10 megapixels and 73-Point Phase-Detection autofocus built-in. It can shoot at full-resolutions at speeds of up to 60 FPS with focus locked or 10 FPS with continuous autofocus, as well as shoot full 1080p HD video and high-speed footage at up to 400 FPS.

This model is equipped with a standard mechanical shutter plus an electronic shutter which is used to shoot faster than 4 FPS and reach ultra-fast shutter-speeds up to 1/16000s, which is unmatched by any DSLR to date. The V1 also has a 0.47" EVF with 1.4 megapixels built-in. This lets it comfortably shoot both images and video at eye-level.
