Fujifilm Launches X-T30 III Plus New Wide Zoom
News
2025.10.23
Four years following its predecessor, the Fujifilm X-T30 III was just launched. This refreshed model maintains all its predecessor's key specifications with exception of a more power X Processor 5 that delivers faster autofocus with better subject tracking, improved continuous shooting and a new level of video capabilities.
The Fujifilm X-T30 III is a Mirrorless Digital Camera built around a 26 Megapixels X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor with a 1.5X APS-C crop-factor. This exact sensor is used by several cameras in the Fujifilm lineup. It has a standard sensitivity range of ISO 160-12800, which expands to ISO 80-25600, plus a built-in electronic shutter than can capture images in 1/32000s. It also supports Bulb exposures up to a full hour.
This sensor is one of the best APS-C sensor on the market. It features millions of Phase-Detection elements that combine to offer a virtual 425-Point AF system that is sensitive down to -7 EV. An ultra-fast read-out from the chip can deliver full-resolution images at 20 FPS and reaches up to 30 FPS with an extra 1.25X crop-factor. With the new X Processor 5, Fujifilm can encode its output as a 6K (6240 x 4160) RAW video at 30 FPS. Ultra HD and the wider Cinema 4K can be recorded at double the frame-rate. Finally, Full HD and Cinema HD reach 240 FPS.
X-T series mirrorless cameras are famous for having a highly tactile interface and the X-T30 III follows suit. Not only does it include dual control-dials, it also sports direct Exposure-Compensation, Shutter-Speed and Film Simulation Mode dials. There is also a focusing joystick at the back of the camera. A great part of camera ergonomics is the viewfinder experience. This camera comes with a comfortable 2.4 Megapixels 0.39" EVF that shows 100% coverage at 100% magnification. The builtin EVF comes with an essential Eye-Start Sensor too.
The X-T30 III is among the most compact of the X-T lineup, measuring just under 5cm thick and weighing barely 380g. To achieve this level of compactness, the camera omits image-stabilization, weatherproofing and the dual card slows found on the high-end Fujifilm X-T5 reviewed here. Still, this new camera packs a deep feature-set.
Together with the new digital camera, Fujifilm announced the unique Fujinon XC13-33mm F/3.5-6.3 OIS lens. A 13mm shortest focal-length makes this the widest kit lens ever made. It is equivalent to a 20-50mm Full-Frame lens, capturing an angle of view between 46° and 95°. To compensate for its dim maximum aperture, and also since the X-T30 III does not have IBIS, the XC13-33mm includes Optical Image Stabilization. It can only handle 4-stops of shake which makes it much less capable than in-body stabilization.
This lens weighs just 125g, making it among the lightest APS-C lenses. It is incredibly compact too. With a 20cm minimum focus-distance, the XC13-33mm reaches a maximum magnification of 0.25X. The front of the lens has a 49mm filter-thread but no bayonet mount to attach a lens hood. There are zoom and focus rings but everything else must be controlled from the attached camera.
The Fujifilm X-T30 III is expected next month for $1000 USD or $1250 CAD. The Fujinon XC13-33mm F/3.5-6.3 OIS, however, will not be available until January 2026. When it hits shelves, it will be priced at $400 USD or $490 CAD.
