Fujifilm X-T100 Mid-Range Mirrorless Launched

Yesterday Fujifilm took the wraps off an X-mount mirrorless camera that slots itself between the X-A5 and X-T10, proving a new simplified camera with a built-in EVF yet using a traditional Bayer sensor rather than the X-Trans ones unique to Fujifilm.

The Fujifillm X-T100 is a mid-size mirrorless with newly designed body. This digital camera is built around a 24 megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor capable of 6 FPS continuous shooting and 4K Ultra-HD video capture at 15 FPS. The X-T100 can also shoot 4K images at 15 FPS and Full 1080p HD at 60 FPS. The sensor offers Hybrid Phase-Detect and Contrast-Detect AF at 91 Points and a hybrid shutter to cover a 1/32000-30s shutter-speed range, plus Bulb exposures up to an hour.

Fujifilm placed both control-dials towards the rear of the camera, one top-mounted horizontally and one vertical at the back. They completely removed the hand-grip to make the body thinner. The back of the X-T100 offers a nice 0.39" EVF with 2.4 megapixels, 100% coverage and 0.62X magnification, plus a built-in Eye-Start sensor. This is obviously the main selling point above the X-A5 which makes the X-T100 immensely more usable and puts it in competition with the superb Fujifilm X-E3 reviewed here.

There are quite a few advanced features on the X-T100, including an 7-Frame AEB and an Interval-Timer. Fujifilm included Motion Panorama and HDR in-camera for ease of use, plus both WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 LE for sharing. There is a 3" LCD of 1 megapixel mounted on a triple hinge at the back to frame at odd angles.

The Fujifilm X-T100 is scheduled to ship on June 18, 2018 for a suggested price of $599 USD or $749 CAD. B&H Photo and Adorama are already accepting pre-orders.
