Fujifilm Takes Waterproof Digital Camera to New Depths

Along with a their mirrorless announcements for Valentine's Day, Fujifilm also released their must waterproof and rugged digital camera yet.
The new Fujifilm Finepix XP140 is more submersible than any Fujifilm camera before it. This 16 megapixels rugged digital camera can be taken down to 25 meter-depths for at least 2 hours, is shockproof to 1.8 meter drops, freezeproof to -10C and completely dustproof with IPX8 and IPX6 certifications to back that up. The XP-series has been one of the most successful line of rugged compacts due to their affordable price-points.
Fujifilm built the XP140 around a 16 megapixels BSI-CMOS sensor paired with a optically stabilized 5X wide-angle optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28-140mm in 35mm-terms. The internal lens has a maximum F/3.9-4.9 aperture which is typical for such compact optics. The new sensor is the first time Fujifilm uses a 4K Ultra-HD capable sensor in a waterproof camera. It can record 4K video at 15 FPS or Full HD 1080p at 60 FPS.
Although this camera is really tough, it manages to weigh in at just 207g and its compact-size made it ideal for adventure. The Fujifilm FinePix XP140 expects to ship next month for $230 USD or $240 CAD.
