Sony Cybershot DSC-H9 Samples

Images below are all unmodified 100% crops from their respective cameras. ISO was set on the camera but exposure was in aperture-priority mode and white-balance was on automatic. Images from the Sony Cybershot DSC-H9 next to images from the the Konica-Minolta Dimage A2. Except for the first row, left-and-right image pairs are taken at the same ISO. On the first row, the H9's ISO 64 is next to the A2's ISO 64. two cameras. Starting at ISO 400, the Sony H9 gradually shows less noise than the A2. By ISO 800, the A2 performs seriously behind the H9 in terms of noise. Looking at the low-ISO crops below, it is apparent that the A2 produces noticeably sharper images. Another area where the A2 did better is white-balance. The A2's white-balance system produced a more neutral color tone. The H9, left a slight yellowish cast. Even so, this is actually better than most digital cameras. Exposure was spot-on although the A2 produces a slightly darker image, showing that even at the same ISO, the H9 is slightly more sensitive.
