Think Tank Photo Launches Dark Light Tactical Backpacks

Veteran makers of professional camera bags, Think Tank Photo, just announces an entirely new series of bags. Starting with two models, the new Dark Light series is described at Tactical Backpacks, emphasizing versatility and ruggedness. With the new series comes a new look too. Most Think Tank Photo bags until now have been designed to be inconspicuous, while these have a definite tactical-style to them.

A pair of Dark Light backpacks with 14L or 20L capacity are available in two colors, black or military green. Both feature top and rear access to facilitate accessing contents and loading. These backpacks have shoulder, chest and waist straps to stabilize them close-to-the body which is helpful for long hikes. Interiors are padded with customizable dividers, just all all other camera bags. Rain covers are also provided with all models.

New to the series is a laser-cut panel that is used to mount additional accessories. Multiple webbing rails on the 20L model allow for even more expansion. Exterior surfaces of the Dark Light series are treated with a DWR-0 coating which maximizes water-resistance. Heavy duty YKK RC-Fuse zippers with ergonomic pulls facilitate the access to gear. A luggage handle pass-through makes transporting these backpacks easier.

Both sizes offer a top and a front pocket for smaller items. An inner zipper inside the front pocket organizes items further. The 14L model can store an 8" tablet in its front pocket, while the 20L can store a larger 13" model. The 20L model also has an inter sleeve sufficiently large to store a 16" laptop. A side pocket is available to store a water bottle or hold on to the legs of a mid-size tripod. Both sizes are sufficiently small to quality as carry-on:

• DarkLight 14L: 19" x 9½" x 7½" (48 x 24 x 19cm) - 2.7lbs (1kg)
• DarkLight 20L: 20" x 12" x 8½" (50 x 31 x 22cm) - 3.4lbs (1.5kg)
