Sigma Adds Mirrorless Prime Trio

Earlier today Sigma Photo expanded their already extensive lineup of prime lenses with a trio of compact prime lenses for Sony E and Leica L mounts. All join the Contemporary mid-range family, two for the DG DN series that is designed for Full-Frame mirrorless and one DC DN for APS-C models.

The widest is the Sigma C 17mm F/4 DG DN, a truly compact lens which captures a 104° field-of-view. Many of the newer Full-Frame Contemporary lenses, like this one, have developed a more premium construction lately. This includes a metal lens barrel, weather sealed construction and direct aperture-ring. The lens comes with a magnetic lens cap and hood.

The middle focal-length model is the ultra-bright Sigma C 23mm F/1.4 DC DN made for APS-C mirrorless. The DC DN models have a more traditional build quality while still being weather-sealed. Including the conversion factor, the new C 23mm F/1.4 DG DN is equivalent to a 35mm lens and captures a 63° angle-of-view. Compared to the DG DN, these models do not offer an aperture ring or focus-switch.

The third of the trio is the Sigma C 50mm F/2 DG DN. This is a moderate aperture lens with a normal 46° field-of-view. Just like the 17mm launched today, this lens is weatherproof and has a metal lens barrel. The barrel has an aperture-ring and focus switch. Sigma provides a magnetic hood and magnetic lens cap for this Full-Frame prime lens.
