Pentax Launches Compact Ultra-Zoom

Pentax just launched it second travel zoom, the Pentax Optio RZ18. This is a compact camera equipped with a 16 megapixels high-resolution CCD sensor and an incredible 18X stabilized ultra-wide optical-zoom lens equivalent from 25-450mm. The compact size and extremely versatile range makes a great combination for hassle-free travel.
The RZ18 can shoot 720p HD video and features a 3" LCD with 460K pixels. This model is mostly point-and-shoot with no manual controls over exposure but a choice of metering-pattern including spot. Thankfully it supports custom white-balance and a wealth of focus options including Manual-Focus, Infinity Focus and Pan Focus. The later are extremely useful but rarely found in small cameras and great help shooting from moving vehicles and at night.
The Pentax Optio RZ18 is schedule to be available in October for an undisclosed price. A choice of Black, Pearl White and Metallic Orange colors will be available.
