Peak Design just launched two new additions to their series of Outdoor bags. One backpack and one sling give minimalist options to those who like to stay as light as possible without compromising comfort. These two new models are designed with a streamlined profile and light weight straps.

The Peak Design Minimalist Outdoor 18L Backpack is a back-opening bag that gives unencumbered access to gear from its back while protecting its content from being accessed by thieves. This is the smallest and lightest Peak Design backpack yet. Described as being 20% lighter than the existing 25L Outdoor model, making this one weigh around 1.4kg with only a 30% reduction in carrying capacity.

For either much lighter travel or extra gear, if already wearing a backpack, the new Peak Design Outdoor Sling 4L is a compact sling that inserts itself between the tiny 2L and large 7L slings already offered by Peak Design. There are few details known about this sling other than its minimalist design that should make it lighter than its peers.
