Nikon D3200 24 Megapixels Entry-Level DSLR

Earlier today, Nikon unveiled their new entry-level DSLR, the D3200. This new model boasts a 24 megapixels APS-C sensor in design very similar to the D3000 except that it can shoot full 1080p HD at 30 FPS and has a standard ISO range up to 6400, expandable to 12800. For the first time for a Nikon DSLR, it will be available in both black and metallic red.

Again, as Nikon did for their top of the line D800, there is a significant jump in resolution compared to previous models. The 24 megapixels sensor of the D3200 can make huge photographic quality prints. Given the resolution and the fact that Nikon obtains their sensors from Sony which uses a 24 megapixels APS-C sensor in its lineup, we can likely say it is the same sensor or even an improved revision. This would give the D3200, one of the best image quality of an entry-level DSLR on the market.

The Nikon D3200 is scheduled to be available this month for $699 USD or $750 CDN. In May, an optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter will be available for $69 USD or CDN to allow the D3200 to communicate with a mobile Android device.
