MindShift Gear Introduces Photocross Backback
News
2019.04.17
This morning MindShift Gear unveiled a new larger addition to their Photocross series. Originally launched with 2 slings, see the Photocross 13 review here, the series now gets the addition of a full-on backpack to accommodate more gear and a larger laptop. The new Photocross 15 backpack sports the same basic design, aesthetics and ultra-resistant materials as the slings. It is more squarish to offer two straps plus a waist belt of extra stability.
MindShift Gear designed the Photocross 15 for adventure photographers who need comfort over extended periods of wear and resistance from harsh elements. Similarly to the slings, this new backpack features side-access to reach gear easily while holding on to the camera bag. This model fits a full-frame DSLR and 3-5 lenses, even when a 70-700mm F/2.8 lens is attached. The laptop compartment has been expanded to fit 15" models.
This Photocross 15 is made of abrasion-resistant materials with a waterproof tarpaulin base and weatherproof zippers. The bag provides side and back anchor points to attach a tripod with the supplied straps. A side-pocket fits most 1L bottles, while a front compartment provides easy access for smaller items. All exterior fabrics are treated with water-resistant coating and their underside with polyurethane. A seam-sealed rain cover is included for protection from heavy rain.

Comfort is provided by the 320G air-mesh back that allows air circulation. A pair of padded shoulder-straps are joined by a removable chest-strap. A wide belt can be used to support and secure the back but also removed to reduce bulk and improve mobility. The interior is fully customizable with dividers.
