Fujifilm Launches XF10

Today Fujifilm unveiled their latest large-sensor fixed-lens digital camera. The compact Fujifilm XF10 features a 24 megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor with ISO 200-12800 sensitivity-range, expandable to ISO 100-51200, just like on their entry-level mirrorless camera. This sensor is paired with a 28mm-equivalent wide-angle lens having an F/2.8 maximum aperture and a built-in leaf-shutter.

Fujifilm managed to make the XF10 particularly small and light, at 41mm in depth and a mere 280g of weight. Included in this size is dual control-dials, a traditional mode-dial and focus-point joystick which makes this compact camera highly efficient. There is a small grip on the front and the rear sports a 3" Touchscreen LCD with 1 megapixels. In favor of size, this particular camera omits both a viewfinder and a hot-shoe, although there is a built-in flash. Thanks to the leaf shutter, it should have a particularly high sync-speed, up to 1/4000s which is the maximum leaf-shutter-speed. An electronic-shutter also allows shutter-speeds up to 1/16000s. At the other extreme, Bulb exposures are possible until a full hour.

The sensor is capable of recording 4K Ultra-HD video at 15 FPS or Full 1080p HD video at 60 FPS. 30 FPS Burst in 4K are possible which can also be used for in-camera focus-stacking. This small camera also offers an Interval-Timer, built-in HDR and Multiple-Exposure. As with recent Fujifilm offering, the XF10 is particularly strong when it comes to bracketing which it can do for Exposure, ISO, Dynamic-Range, Film-Simulation and White-Balance.
