Canon Reveals New Powershot Models

Just today Canon unveiled 3 new Powershot digital cameras for beginners. The smallest Canon Powershot ELPH 340HS is an ultra-compact with an 8X ultra-wide-angle optical zoom lens and 16 megapixels high-speed CMOS sensor. Like the rest of the cameras Canon announced today, the ELPH 340HS includes built-in WiFi.

The new Canon Powershot SX600 HS is a travel-zoom with an impressive 20X ultlra-wide-angle zoom in an ultra-compact body, giving it one of the most potent zoom-to-size ratio of any digital camera. It offers some manual controls, including manual-focus which is rarely seen in such small cameras.

Lastly the Canon Powershot N100 takes the N-concept to the next level of sharing. This unique compact camera features a second rear-facing lens and sensor to capture the photographer right at the moment a picture is taken. The main ultra-bright F/1.8 lens provides 5X optical zoom and is paired with a larger-than-usual 1/1.7" CMOS sensor.

The new N100 offers built-in sharing functionality with both WiFi and NFC. A tilting LCD screen allows its unique images to be captured from a variety of angles. This model offers a more conventional body with a higher number of external controls than previous N models, making it faster and easier to use.
