Canon unveiled a number of new Powershot digital cameras and an entry-level DSLR for CP+ 2014. The Canon EOS Rebel T5 is the new addition to the EOS family and presents familiar specifications in a new light-weight body. It shares the same 18 megapixels CMOS sensor as recent Rebels with a 1.6X crop factor behind an EF-S lens mount. The T5 can shoot sequentially at 3 FPS and has a basic 9-point AF system. Available this March for $549 USD or $579 CDN.

The Canon Powershot SX700 HS is an advanced travel-zoom with full manual-controls that packs a stabilized ultra-wide-angle 30X optical zoom lens in an incredibly compact body. Its high-speed CMOS sensor captures 3.1 FPS images at 16 megapixels and record full HD video at 30 FPS. To ship in March for $349 USD or $379 CDN.

The waterproof Canon Powershot D30 is the most submersible digital camera to date. Its body can resist pressure and water-infiltration down to 25 meters and its casing can withstand drops of up to 2 meters. It is also freezeproof to -10C. This D30 has a built-in GPS to complete this adventure-friendly package. To ship in March for $329 USD or $349 CDN.

Three new ultra-compact ELPH were also introduced this week:

• Canon Powershot ELPH 135 - Ultra-compact with a 16 megapixels CCD sensor and 8X wide-angle zoom. Available February for $119 USD or $129 CDN.
• Canon Powershot ELPH 140 IS - Stabilized version of the ELPH 135. Captures 720p HD video, as does the above. Available in February for $129 USD or $149 CDN.
• Canon Powershot ELPH 150 IS - 20 megapixels CCD-based ultra-compact with a stabilized ultra-wide 10X optical zoom. Available in February for $149 USD or $169 CDN.
