Lens Description

The Tokina AT-X 840 AF D is a short telephoto to super telephoto zoom designed for cameras with APS-C (1.5X) sensors. This variable-aperture zoom covers a 80mm to 400mm focal range. It provides the same field of view as a 120mm to 600mm lens on a Full-Frame camera.

This zoom is capable of focusing down to 250cm from the imaging plane which gives it a maximum magnification of 0.18X. The lens supports autofocus and features a switch to disengage AF for focusing manually. A built-in focus motor is used to set the focus-distance. It allowed Tokina to optimize the motor precisely for this lens in order to maximize performance.

This version has a Nikon F lens mount. Follow this link to see all current compatible digital cameras: Nikon F mount cameras with APS-C (1.5X) or larger sensor. Tokina also made this lens available for Canon EF mounts.
