Lens Description

The Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F/4-6.3 ASPH Power OIS is a medium telephoto to super telephoto zoom designed for cameras with Four-Thirds (2X) sensors. This variable-aperture zoom covers a 100mm to 400mm focal range. It provides the same field of view as a 200mm to 800mm lens on a Full-Frame camera. An optical Image Stabilization System built into the lens compensates for camera shake. The body of this lens is weatherproof against adverse weather such as rain and snow. It has sealing to prevent entry of water and dust.

This zoom is capable of focusing down to 130cm from the imaging plane which gives it a maximum magnification of 0.25X. The lens supports autofocus and features a switch to disengage AF for focusing manually. A built-in focus motor is used to set the focus-distance. It allowed Panasonic to optimize the motor precisely for this lens in order to maximize performance.

This lens is only available for Micro Four-Thirds. Follow this link to see all current compatible digital cameras: Micro Four-Thirds mount cameras with Four-Thirds (2X) or larger sensor.
