Digital Camera Description

The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX5 is a Ultra-Compact Digital Camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Its 12 Megapixels CMOS sensor offers an ISO 125-3200 sensitivity range which is expandable to ISO 125-3200. With 12 MP of resolution, sharp prints are possible up to at 240 DPI.

A builtin Image Stabilization mechanism allows the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX5 to compensate for camera shake.

This camera features a mechanic shutter that can expose for 1/1600 to 2s. With a fastest shutter-speed of 1/1600, fast action cannot be frozen. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography.

Sony Cybershot DSC-WX5

The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX5 features a 9-point Contrast-Detect AF system. Autofocus can continuously adjust according to subject distance. A Real-Time Autofocus Tracking System allows focus to follow a moving subject within the frame.

This camera does not feature any seals to protect it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. Care must be taken, just like with most electronics. There is no viewfinder on the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX5 and no provision to add one.
