Digital Camera Description

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 is a Compact Digital Camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Its 18 Megapixels CMOS sensor offers an ISO 100-3200 sensitivity range which is expandable to ISO 100-6400. This makes it possible to shoot hand-held in relatively low-light. With 18 MP of resolution, sharp prints are possible up to at 240 DPI.

A builtin Image Stabilization mechanism allows the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 to compensate for camera shake.

This camera features a mechanic shutter that can expose for 1/2000 to 4s. With a fastest shutter-speed of 1/2000, fast action can easily be frozen. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography. This camera model offers Full Manual Controls.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 features a 23-point Contrast-Detect AF system. Autofocus can continuously adjust according to subject distance. Manual Focus is also available.

Although this camera offers full manual controls, it does not have any control-dials to change exposure parameters directly. This camera does not feature any seals to protect it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. Care must be taken, just like with most electronics. Framing on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 is performed via a 0.20" Built-in EVF with 200K Pixels. This EVF shows 100% coverage.
