The Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS is a Ultra-Compact Digital Camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Its 12 Megapixels CMOS sensor offers an ISO 100-6400 sensitivity range which is expandable to ISO 100-6400. This makes it possible to shoot hand-held in relatively low-light. With 12 MP of resolution, sharp prints are possible up to 17" x 12" at 240 DPI.
A builtin Image Stabilization mechanism allows the Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS to compensate for camera shake.
This camera features a mechanic shutter that can expose for 1/2000 to 1/4. With a fastest shutter-speed of 1/2000, fast action can easily be frozen. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography.
The Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS features a Contrast-Detect AF system.
The Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS is waterproof to a 10 meter depth. The weatherproof construction of this digital camera protects it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. This particular model is also freezeproof down to -10C. There is no viewfinder on the Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS and no provision to add one.
