The Olympus Tough TG-7 is a Compact Digital Camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Its 12 Megapixels CMOS sensor offers an ISO 100-12800 sensitivity range which is expandable to ISO 100-12800. This makes it possible to shoot hand-held in relatively low-light. With 12 MP of resolution, sharp prints are possible up to 17" x 12" at 240 DPI.
A builtin 2-Axis Image Stabilization mechanism allows the Olympus Tough TG-7 to compensate for camera shake up to 2.5-Stops beyond hand-holding.
This camera features a hybrid shutter that can expose for 1/2000 to 4s. With a fastest shutter-speed of 1/2000, fast action can easily be frozen. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography.
The Olympus Tough TG-7 features a 25-point Contrast-Detect AF system. Manual Focus is also available.
The Olympus Tough TG-7 is waterproof to a 15 meter depth. The weatherproof construction of this digital camera protects it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. This particular model is also freezeproof down to -10C. There is no viewfinder on the Olympus Tough TG-7 and no provision to add one.
