Digital Camera Description

The Nikon Coolpix S5100 is a Ultra-Compact Digital Camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Its 12 Megapixels CCD sensor offers an ISO 100-3200 sensitivity range which is expandable to ISO 100-3200. With 12 MP of resolution, sharp prints are possible up to at 240 DPI.

A builtin Image Stabilization mechanism allows the Nikon Coolpix S5100 to compensate for camera shake.

This camera features a mechanic shutter that can expose for 1/1500 to 4s. With a fastest shutter-speed of 1/1500, fast action cannot be frozen. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography.

Nikon Coolpix S5100

The Nikon Coolpix S5100 features a Contrast-Detect AF system.

This camera does not feature any seals to protect it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. Care must be taken, just like with most electronics. There is no viewfinder on the Nikon Coolpix S5100 and no provision to add one.
