Tomorrow the 7th Annual Royal Meteorological Society's Weather Photographer of the Year contest open for submissions. Entries will be collected until June 28, 2022. This contest is free and open to enter to all levels and ages of photographers.
This year the competition has moved to a new platform. The youth category is being supported by The Week Junior Science+Nature, as a media partner and no longer has a minimum age. It is now open to anyone under 18, provided a responsible adult submits the entry. For the first time, judges will also combine shortlisted entries across both the main and mobile phone categories to form the public vote in August and September.
Prizes
All winners receive a one year free membership of the Royal Meteorological Society.
Weather Photographer of the Year 2022- Title of Weather Photographer of the Year 2022
- £500 cash for the winner, £250 for 2nd place and £100 for 3rd place
- Canon SELPHY CP1300 printer and media pack for the winner
- Weather - A Force of Nature: Spectacular images from Weather Photographer of the Year
- Smart Photos Jo Bradford (signed copy) for public vote winner (decided from joint shortlist with Mobile Phone opportunity)
- Title of Weather Photographer of the Year 2022 - Mobile Phone Category
- £500 cash for the winner, £250 for the runner-up
- Canon SELPHY CP1300 printer and media pack for the winner
- Smart Photos Jo Bradford (signed copy) for title winner and public vote winner (decided from joint shortlist with the Main opportunity)

The winners of Weather Photographer of the Year 2022, Young Weather Photographer of the Year 2022 and the Mobile Phone – Weather Photographer of the Year 2022 will be announced via a social media live stream on 6 October 2022.
