The Sony Cybershot DSC-600 finds itself at the low-end of average cameras. It certainly does nothing to impress among compact cameras, except perhaps for its introduction price. Typical images from the S600 are acceptable but exhibit more pronounced problems than most cameras in its class. Additionally, this camera is very limited in its capabilities with a maximum shutter-speed of 1 second. Somewhat disturbing is the fact that, according to Designtechnica, the S600 does not produce consistent image colors at different ISO settings.

There are much better cameras to consider instead of this one, including the Canon Powershot A610, the Fuji Finepix E550 and the Fuji Finepix E510. The E510 particularly does not cost much more than the S600 at this time and is absolutely worth the price difference.
