The Pentax Optio WPi is the 6 megapixel update to the WP model reviewed here last year. Just like its predecessor, this camera is very sturdy, water-proof, dust-proof and ultra-compact. Together this makes it an excellent take everywhere digital camera. This small camera has a nice feature-set for its class, including a live-histogram and multiple focus-modes.

Otherwise, the Optio WPi has good image quality for its class, with sharp images, accurate colors and virtually no purple fringing. On the other hand, this camera's only viewfinder is difficult to see in low-light and blanks during continuous shooting. Since the WPi uses the same battery as the WP, we also suspect its battery-life to be below average, even tough this hasn't been confirmed by its reviews.
