The Nikon Coolpix 7600 looks just like other Nikon cameras in its class and shares similar ergonomics which makes it easy to use. Pictures from this camera are acceptable but the white-balance system (automatic, preset and custom) all leave a distinct color cast in images. While barely having any control over the camera may appeal to beginners, not having control over ISO is quite detrimental.

Just like most compact cameras, the Nikon 7600's noise-levels rise quickly with ISO sensitivities. Consequently, pictures taken at different ISO sensitivities are not of the same quality and cannot be printed acceptably to the same maximum size. Since this digital camera controls ISO at all times, it therefore dictates the quality each image. This is definitely something which the photographer should be in control of.

Excellent cameras in this class include the Canon Powershot A610 and Canon Powershot A95. Good  cameras in this class include the Fuji Finepix E550, Fuji Finepix E510, Nikon Coolpix 7900 and the Olympus SP-350. All these cameras are worth there price far more than the Nikon Coolpix 7600.
