The Kodak Z740 is your average ultra-zoom camera. The pictures are good, it performs well in low-light and its interface is simple. Other than that, it exhibits above average noise levels and purple fringing. The major weakness of this ultra-zoom is the lack of image stabilization, this reduces the usability of its 10X optical zoom. For about the same price, you can get the better Canon Poweshot S1 IS or Konica-Minolta Dimage Z5 which both include image stabilization.
