The Fuji Finepix V10 shows an impressive performance for an ultra-compact digital camera. Its strong point are low-image noise, a very sharp 3.4X optical zoom lens and fast speed of operation. Really, the only way to do better with an ultra-compact is to go for the Fuji Finepix F10.

 

While image noise at standard ISO settings (64-400) is very low, the F10 did much better in the high-ISO department, a feet unique among ultra-compact cameras. The F10 also features a much longer battery-life, better low-light focusing, longer shutter-speeds and better body ergonomics.

 

The V10 is somewhat awkward to use because its high-resolution 3" LCD takes most of the room on the back of the camera. Consequently, external controls are tiny and there is virtually no room to rest your thumbs on the camera's rear. Finally, the V10's unique feature is that it has 4 built-in video-games which adds nothing to its value as a camera, but it may interest some people.
