Assessment

The only amazing thing about this camera is how thin it is. Outdoors, in bright light, it produces good looking pictures, so does almost every other camera. The Casio EX-S100 has some nice features to it such as pan-focus, a real-time histogram, a triple timer and assignable external controls. Unfortunately this camera is let down by its narrow lens aperture which makes telephoto pictures subject to noise (with ISO above 100) or subject to blur (with ISO 100 or below). These two problems also occur indoors because the flash is too weak.

Those who can spare 0.2" of pocket space would be much happier with another ultra-compact camera such as the Konica-Minolta Dimage X50 or Canon Powershot SD200. These particular models both cost less and do not use a camera dock, which is more convenient for travel.
