This camera is one of the first batch of 8 megapixel prosumer digital cameras. Clearly aimed at the prosumer becausse of its lens, full set of manual controls and price, the Canon Powershot Pro1 missed its target due to its poor optical quality. Most people spending this much money on a digital camera rightly won't accept vignetting, distortion and image noise to be so pronouced. Anyone interested in an 8 megapixels long-zoom digital camera has several better choices such as the Konica-Minolta Dimage A2/A200 and the Nikon Coolpix 8800.
