Images below are all unmodified 100% crops from the Canon Powershot A720 IS. Each image was exposed using aperture-priority and infinity focus with the camera on a tripod. Note that the ISO 80 image is slightly darker because the maximum possible exposure was reach at ISO 100.

Digital cameras are all more prone to noise during long exposures, the Canon A720 is no exception. Although ISO 80 and 100 are fairly clean, there is still detectable noise at these low ISO sensitivities which does not leave much hope for higher sensitivities. ISO 200 is not too bad for such long exposures. Things get very noisy after that. You may get away with a tiny ISO 400 print but ISO 800 and 1600 are pretty much useless under these conditions.
