Here we compare the Fuji Finepix F80 EXR with its predecessor, the Fuji Finepix F200 EXR
Fuji Finepix F200 EXR. Images below are all 100% crops from their respective cameras. ISO was set on each the camera. All other setting was left on automatic. All images were taken at the highest resolution possible for the set ISO sensitivity. This includes all possible ISO settings for EXR-SN mode as well and, for the F80 EXR only, the Pro Low-Light mode which gave ISO 400 for this scene.
From the crops below, the Finepix F80 and F200 produce quite similar results throughout their ISO range with a sligjht but noticeable lead for the F200. Given the way the EXR sensor works, this is the longest set of ISO crops ever shown here. It is worth noting that the EXR modes actually do work and provide a visible difference in noise levels compared to their higher resolution counterparts. The advantage of EXR-SN mode is most pronounced at ISO 800 and 1600, where is is needed most. Higher ISO are produced using pixel binning which means they are already of lower-resolution.
