Canon EF-S 55-250mm F/4-5.6 IS STM Lens
Lens Description
The Canon EF-S 55-250mm F/4-5.6 IS STM is a short telephoto to super telephoto zoom designed for cameras with a APS-C (1.6X) sensor. This variable-aperture zoom covers a 55 to 250mm focal-range. It provides the same field of view as a 88-400mm lens on a Full-Frame camera. An optical Image Stabilization System built into this lens compensates for of up to 4-stopsMeasured according the the CIPA Standard. of camera shake.
This 5X zoom lens focuses down to 85cm from the imaging plane. The lens offers a Quick-Shift AF system which lets the user simply rotate the focus-ring to focus manually. A built-in focus motor is used to set the focus-distance. It allowed Canon to optimize the motor precisely for this lens in order to maximize performance.
The lens weighs 375g.
This lens is only available for the Canon EF mount. It directly attaches and is fully compatible with all Canon EF mount cameras with APS-C (1.6X) sensors.
